This past month has been pretty quiet and uneventful so we’ve been tucked in at home staying warm! The weather was really nice over the weekend, but Lauren has a terrible cold/cough so unfortunately we weren’t outside enjoying it. Grandma Mary has been down a couple times and Lauren always loves her visits- and hates to say goodbye!
Lauren is becoming more independent every day and we can see her little mind working to process all the new things she learns. She loves to read out loud to herself and can sing along to a few songs. We still have frequent communication breakdowns as she just can’t get the words out that she needs to say. And where she used to say “yeah!” to everything we asked her, Lauren now runs around repeating “no, no, no, no!”. Our patience and parenting skills are definitely being challenged several times a day!
The poem I wrote to her on her Valentine for daycare follows:
Your smile is contagious; you’re smart and funny, too.
You may throw a lot of tantrums, but we always love you!
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all!

YYYEEESSS!!! I have been waiting for something new and boy did you deliver!! I can’t get enough of her gorgeous face and fun curls! Something tells me that this one will keep you hopping! Happy Valentine’s Day Kecks! Love, Laurie
La La Pizza Maker Specialist! You are so good at carefully spreading the sauce and placing the pepperoni on the pizza. I can tell pepperoni is one of your favorite foods:) Your Mommy’s valentine poem is perfect — we love you too. Looking forward to giving you a big Valentine hug on Saturday. Love, Nana
Adorable. Love the video…I giggled the whole time…and Logan was asking for a pizza party by the end. Just please know that you are wonderful parents and Lala trying to test you is normal. It’s still happening at my house on a regular basis. It would be a tough world if you were too short, too small and could understand what everyone was saying but couldnt’ get your mouth around the necessary words to respond. She’s a wonderfully beautiful little girl…and you gotta love that she knows what she wants…even if the reaction you are dealing with is less than desireable. I love you guys…Happy Valentine’s Day!!! -Amy
Lauren, you’re going to have your Daddy’s talents as a chef! You love pepperoni as much as Sparky does, too! Thanks for the video . . . have fun in AZ!!! Love and Valentine kisses and hugs from Grandma Mary and Grandpa Nick
Lauren– You remind me so much of your Daddy when we used to make homemade pizza. He used to sit on the counter just like you, only he would eat the mushrooms right out of the can. You really do a nice job of spreading the sauce and getting the pepperoni on just right. I can’t wait until saturday to give you a BIG Valentines day hug and kiss. Love, OPA
