Week 26

By: Josh | Tags: , , , ,

2/27/07 Ultrasound 4D Well we got to take another peek at the baby this afternoon. Unfortunately however he/she was just as shy as the last time we checked in. Here’s a picture of the best look we got and it only lasted a few seconds before the baby quickly moved it’s hands to cover it’s face. It’s currently 1lb. 9oz. and we’re very happy that the baby is healthy and doing great. Steph’s also happy to know that the cookie dough ice cream cravings haven’t led to gestational diabetes so Mom is doing great as well.

This weekend is the big push to make some progress on finishing up the Nursery so I’m sure they’ll be some more pictures to come next week.

p.s. I’d also like to note that the corner of the black and white picture says “3rd Trimester” which means you’re now 2/3 done!!!! This one goes SUPER FAST so get that nursery all decked out and then RELAX, ok???

Week 25

By: Steph | Tags: , , , , ,

Sorry to disappoint, but I don’t have anything exciting to report this week!  The dr. appointment and ultrasound I had scheduled for today was rescheduled for next Tuesday, so check back next week and we should have some new ultrasound pictures to share.  It’s been a busy week and UPS has been making a few stops at our house- the crib and mattress arrived, we got a rocker/ottoman, and the crib bedding came yesterday.  Josh is in the process of moving the desks and computers downstairs so hopefully we can start on the baby’s room in the next couple of weeks!Â

steph-erin_bw.jpgTwo belly pictures in a row! My good friend and co-worker, Erin, is due with her second baby in a few weeks so we took a picture together today. It’s been fun to be pregnant at the same time- she has been a great listener and has lots of advice for me… she also brings me a lot of cookies :)

We are getting closer to filling up a nursery- we bought a crib this week and a dresser/changing table last week. The office needs to be moved downstairs before we can start setting up the furniture, but I told Josh he doesn’t have to move his office until the outside temperature stays above 20 degrees for a few days… it gets very chilly down in the basement!

We had a very nice Valentine’s day- I came home to roses and a steak and crab dinner! It was a very nice treat :) Hope you all had a very lovely Valentine’s Day as well!

I also want to comment that your guardian angel is in that photo…you can see a little circle behind Erin…or maybe that’s your babie’s guardian angel…pretty cool either way!!

Week 23

Feb 7 2007 - 23 Weeks So here is a new belly picture!  I’m definately filling out maternity clothes at this point and only a few pre-pregnancy shirts fit now, or at least stretch enough like the one I have on.  Some days I’m feeling pretty big, but then I see someone in their ninth month and realize I have a long way to go!  I gave up running a while ago- it was just too uncomfortable, but have been walking and lifting light weights.  A little different than the training schedule I was on before the 1/2 marathon this past summer :)  Now my goal is to just balance out all the chocolate and ice cream I’ve been craving!  The baby really likes to exercise- after I’m home from the gym, he/she gets very active and it’s fun to feel all of the movements.

I had a fun trip to Fargo last weekend and my cousins got me in the mood to shop for baby things! I hadn’t really let myself buy anything yet, basically because I know once I start, I won’t be able to stop! Kate and Jess helped me pick out a few things, some of which are in the picture, and then ended up buying them for me- so sweet :) The baby has received quite a few gifts already, as there were some packages under the tree at Christmas. Books, a beautiful blanket, and a cowboy hat from Uncle Jeff are just a few things that we’ve received so far.

Josh and I have also been shopping for nursery furniture the past couple of weeks. We haven’t found exactly what we’re looking for yet so the search continues. Hopefully we find something soon since I’m itching to start decorating a nursery!

Shopping aside, its been a pretty low-key week around here. I’ve been fighting off a head cold this week, so I took yesterday off to rest up. Feeling better today, which is great because I’d hate to be really sick and be pregnant at the same time!

Week 21

By: Steph | Tags: , , , , , ,

First, I’d just like to thank everyone who has checked out our site! It’s fun to read your comments and we’re happy to share this experience with you.

I had a doctor appointment this morning and after having an ultrasound, these routine appts. are pretty uneventful! Too bad we can’t see the baby every time! It’s still fun to hear the heartbeat and everything looked good. I scheduled a follow-up ultrasound for Feb. 22nd along with a glucose screen for gestational diabetes – I’m just glad there is no fasting involved for that! The appetite is still going strong and the “lady lump” (as Josh affectionately called it last night) seems to grow every day. Another profile picture will be going up here soon!

I’m heading up to Fargo this weekend for a relaxing weekend with my cousins, Kate and Jess, and am very excited to be getting back to ND for a couple days! It will also be fun to see some friends I haven’t seen a quite a while. Should be a great weekend! I think Josh is looking forward to some quiet time at home with Koda- without me around and looking for things to organize :)

Steph, you are so beautiful!! I watched the Audrey Hephren story last night and thought of you because you are just as lovely if not more so than she was.
Thanks for having this Blog. It will be so fun to see your progress.
I read Ps. 139 to Cortney Ellen every day for the last five months she was in my womb. To this day, she loves reading her Bible.
I am so happy for you and Josh. You will be such great parents and your child will be soooo spoiled by their grandma in Grafton, this we know!
Take care you two and 1/2 and keep those pictures coming!

    Love you!

    Suz

4D2 We had our first ultrasound this morning and it was so amazing!! It was great to see the baby in so much detail. Unfortunately the baby was bent in half so the arms and legs were hiding the face. The toes were basically touching the forehead! It also made it hard to get a good look at the heart, so I’m having another ultrasound in 5 weeks. Hopefully we’ll get some better images at that appointment. Everything looked fine though, the heartbeat was 144 and the baby weighs 11 ounces. Its measuring within 2 days of my due date, so we’re right on track! -Steph

Wow! Like Steph said I can’t believe the amount of detail the ultrasound shows. I can tell you right now that kind of flexibility doesn’t come from my genes. It’s comforting to hear and see that the baby is progressing on track. I’m look forward to getting another look in 5 weeks when things are even further along. Hopefully he/she’s not so shy next time. -Josh

Unreal. Is it just me, or are baby Keck’s legs really long? I see basketball in baby Keck’s future – whether its the NBA or the WNBA!

Jan 12 2007 So this is my first attempt at blogging! We thought it would be fun to keep everyone updated through the rest of the pregnancy, especially those far away. We’ll try to update weekly with pictures or comments. It won’t always be about baby news, although that topic seems to be most prominent right now!

Today is Josh’s 30th birthday and the baby must know it’s a special day… I felt it move for the first time this afternoon! A few little thumps is what it felt like, but it was definitely exciting. I think I’ve officially “popped” and the baby bump is quite obvious at this point. I’m still feeling great and have been craving mint ice cream lately… and of course anything chocolate. Josh teases me that I’ve been nesting lately, it just seems like there is so much to do in preparation for the baby. Cleaning closets, sorting drawers, making to-do lists- I constantly think of things to organize. He’s just glad I haven’t bossed him around too much yet. :)

I will be 19 weeks tomorrow and have an ultrasound scheduled next Friday. We are so excited to “see” the baby and to be reassured that everything is going well. We have decided to be surprised and will not find out the sex. It’s hard to believe we’re at the 1/2 way point of the pregnancy, time has gone by so fast already. June will be here before we know it!!
