Waiting patiently is really hard to do!  I feel like we are ready for this baby now and the belly is getting quite cumbersome- and all we can do is wait for the baby to be ready.  I keep thinking “this could be my last day of work” and the hospital bag is packed… so every day I wake up a little disappointed that nothing has happened yet :)  Two weeks seems like such a short time, but the last few days have just crept by.  We’ll try to keep busy around the house this weekend- it will be the first Memorial weekend we haven’t been at the lake in many years!

I attached this picture so Uncle Jeff can see where the cowboy hat will be… right next to some little boots that Manda gave him/her.  Pretty darn cute!

Hope everyone enjoys the holiday weekend!

Waiting for baby . . . I remember sitting in the rocker that Grandma Wanda had painted . . . looking at the “circus” wallpaper Grandma Merle had hung . . . and thinking you were NEVER going to be born, Steph! (You DON’T want to know how many days “over” you were!)
Baby Keck’s nursery looks so darling and everything’s ready to go. Can’t wait to see him/her lying on that changing table! The entire northeastern corner of North Dakota is waiting to hear the BIG news!! Love you guys . . . Mom

week37-1 So this is probably the last profile shot you will see… this outfit is stretched to the max and not looking very attractive at this point!  The baby and I are packing on the last few pounds and although I’m still moving around fairly well, I’m not sure how much bigger the belly can get!  Never knew you could grow out of maternity clothes, but even my longest shirts are creeping up now.

I had an appointment on Monday and the doctor didn’t give me any indication that the baby would be coming before the due date- but you never know!  I’m hoping to make it through Memorial weekend… there is still some organizing to do- just kidding :)  I’ve been trying to take it easy lately and relax more.  Hard to believe in just a few short weeks, life will never be the same!!

Week 36

By: Steph | Tags: , , , ,

We had a fun weekend that included a couple of baby showers! My mom and dad were down for a few days so it was great to spend some time with them. My good friend Amy Johnson hosted a wonderful shower on Saturday and Jeff and Patty Boots threw a fun couples shower for us on Sunday. Josh and I are overwhelmed with the love everyone feels for the baby already and we have been so blessed with family and friends who are just as excited as we are for this baby to arrive! We have the necessities now to bring the baby home, but I can definitely wait a few more weeks :)

Baby Poll

By: Steph | Tags: , ,

Since many of you have an opinion on what this little baby will be, we thought it would be fun to set up a baby poll! Enter your name and then your best guess of the gender, birth date and weight… we haven’t decided a prize for the winner yet; one idea was that the winner gets to change the first messy diaper :) If anything, it will just be fun to see what everyone thinks.

Go to the poll…

I had a doctor appt. last Monday and all is well. The heartbeat was 135 bpm (that might help some of you with a guess on the gender if you follow the old wives’ tales). We have some labor and delivery classes this coming weekend at the hospital so hopefully I will feel more comfortable knowing what to expect when the big day arrives!

We also have some sad news- Josh’s grandma Dorothy passed away yesterday. We were able to see her in the morning and say goodbye, but it is never easy to let go of our loved ones. And to my family in Las Vegas- Tom, our prayers are with you and although we can’t be there, Josh and I are thinking of all of you. God Bless-

Baby Photos

By: Steph | Tags: , , , ,

Not much to report this week so I just wanted to share some old baby photos! As I wrote in the previous entry, I’m getting anxious to meet the baby and see what he/she looks like… will he have Josh’s eyes or will she have my nose?

We had a nice trip up to Grafton last weekend, although the car ride was a lot more uncomfortable than usual! We also realized that the next time we head up north, we will have a lot more (baby) stuff to bring along with us- hopefully there is still room in the truck for Koda!

It can’t be “30″ years . . . seems like only yesterday, right, Nana Jo? What darling babies you were! I remember Grandma Wanda titled that picture
“Stephanie Sunshine”! She took so-o-o-o many pictures of you, Steph . . .
How great that “K” Keck has such a photo-pro dad, Josh . . . I’ll want LOTS for my grandma “brag book”! We had such a wonderful Easter with the three (whoops . . . ) FOUR of you here. Thanks for making the long trip up to the “tundra”! Love, Mom

Week 31

By: Steph | Tags: , , , , , ,

week31-8-Edit-2 So I think the belly has grown since the last time I wore this shirt! It seems like I’ve gotten much bigger just in the last couple of weeks. And we’re officially into the single-digit countdown… 9 weeks left! The due date is coming really fast which seems a little scary at times, but I’m also getting very excited to meet the baby. And we’re very anxious to find out if its a girl or a boy! Everyone asks if I have an intuition either way, and honestly, I keep thinking its a boy. But who knows- I was so sure my friend Heidi was having a girl and she had a boy, Drew, yesterday! I know some of you have your own opinions… maybe we’ll have to start a poll on here soon.

We’re heading up to Grafton this weekend after a stop in St. Cloud Friday night- I’m excited to spend a long weekend with family. Hopefully the car ride won’t be too uncomfortable, its getting harder to sit for long periods of time. I definately have lots of baby books to read up on while Josh is driving!

Happy Easter!!

Hang in there!! It does look like you’ve had quite the growth spurt, but in a very good way. We want a healthy baby and you look like you’re doing great! JOSH – back massages at this point are a very nice thing to offer. :P Just a hint… and have you tried swimming?? I felt so great swimming my last trimester, don’t know if you have a place to do that or not but just a thought. :) I can’t wait to meet this baby!!!

Week 30

By: Steph | Tags: , , , , ,

I had a dr. appt. yesterday and everything looks good!  The baby is about 2-3 lbs. now and he/she is definately taking up more space.  I’m trying to eat smaller meals since its easier to stay comfortable if I don’t stuff myself, but I’m still finding time to sneak in some treats, too :)

We’re taking on the whole registering process this week so we’re headed to Babies-R-Us tonight.  Hopefully it goes better than Target… I had a meltdown last week trying to figure out which bottles are best.  Its quite overwhelming when you have an abundance of choices for something you don’t know much about!  Since then, I’ve done some research and talked to experienced moms who have given me a lot of great information.  I’m much better prepared to tackle the baby superstore tonight- Josh will appreciate that!

Josh and I are also joining St. Andrew Church in Eden Prairie this Sunday and we’re excited to meet some new people in Eden Prairie and to get involved with some activities there.  Throughout the pregnancy, we’ve just felt so blessed to be experiencing such a wonderful miracle- babies are truly a gift from God!

Week 29

Belly Pics-2 So you want another belly picture, huh? I apologize for not writing much lately, but we’ve been busy, out-of-town, too tired, borrowed the camera out- but enough excuses already! Personally I don’t feel the belly has grown much lately, although those who see me have a different opinion. Still feeling pretty good… lately its been more difficult to get a good nights sleep and my ankles have started swelling a bit. Hopefully the swelling stops there and doesn’t travel up to my face! I’m feeling a little more cumbersome and its a little harder to roll out of bed in the morning. And we still have 11 weeks left! I’m starting to see why pregnant women get very impatient waiting for that baby to come near the end :) The weeks are actually going by very quickly and with the spring-like weather lately, it seems like June will be here before we know it. The baby has been really active the past few weeks- I’ve gotten familiar with the kicks and somersaults, but Josh is always amazed at the crazy movements going on inside the belly!

By: Steph | Tags: ,

Just wanted to share a couple of new arrivals this past week!  Our good friends, the Rupps, had a baby girl last Thursday- Mollie Marie.  And my friend/co-worker, Erin, had a baby girl today – Cienna Reese.  Congrats on your beautiful, healthy baby girls!  We’re excited to meet them soon!

CRW_4296 We got a lot done on the nursery this weekend and I absolutely love how it turned out! I was a little skeptical as Josh and Mom were painting, but once the tape came down, it was better than I could picture it. Unfortunately some of the crib hardware was missing so we weren’t able to completely set up the crib, just enough to give us an idea how the frame will look. It was great to have my mom and dad here to help out, even the icy roads and snow didn’t keep them away. And Josh’s parents brought some gifts back from Arizona (thanks, Keck kids!) so the room is filling up quickly with cuddly baby things.

Snow!

By: Josh | Tags: , ,

CRW_4269
The snow has been relentless over the past week! Last weekend we got about a foot and the past 2 days we’ve gotten another foot. Here’s a picture after Koda and I dug out the driveway for the 3rd time in 24hours. I’m sure those of you enjoying the weather (and golf) in warmer climates will enjoy looking at it from afar.

The first coat of paint is on the walls of the nursery. Hopefully we will make some more progress and have some nice pictures after the weekend.

    Josh and Steph,
The snow looks beautiful — from afar that is:) We were at Chris and Jayne’s last night and showed the kids the website. They were so excited to see the pictures — and of course all the snow and Koda, their favorite “trick dog.” Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday and getting a peek at Baby Keck’s room. What a busy weekend — paint, shovel, paint, shovel……. Love to you all, Mom
