We had a great time with my family last week and Lauren loved seeing her uncles Jeff and Jonny again. They each got some cuddle time with their new nephew but were most entertained by their imaginative, talkative, and spunky niece :)  We kept them busy with trips to the zoo, the MOA and the (Read the Rest…)

We spent the 4th of July in Park River, ND, and had a great day with the Halls. I had a surprise visit from my family a couple of weeks ago- it was a total shock to come home from work and find them all there waiting!  I was pretty emotional at first, but after they assured me that it was just a fun surprise, I was able to relax and calm down (Read the Rest…)

We started off the new year in Grafton and had a fun time celebrating a late Christmas and New Years with my family. It was great to have Jeff and Jonny home- they loved playing with Lauren and gave her a baby grand piano of her own. She loves dancing to the music! I was (Read the Rest…)

November has been a busy month so far! We started out by celebrating my birthday and I had a couple of fun nights out with friends. Then Lauren came down with a fever which was pretty tough on Josh and I- the worst were the shots and finger pricks she had to endure at the (Read the Rest…)

    Wow, she sure looks a lot like Josh in that photo where she’s holding the pumpkin! I love seeing her new pictures. What I would really love is a new video . . . . :)

Well Lauren had quite the first Halloween complete with 2 different outfits. We thought her Butterfly costume might be a little much for a day at school so she went as a cowgirl wearing her cowboy hat from Uncle Jeff and her Boots from Manda. Yee Haw!

I know it’s been too long since the last post, but we’ve been busy! This past weekend was especially interesting- storms came through around 3 am on Saturday morning and we lost power at the house until Sunday afternoon! Lauren’s baptism was Saturday evening so we had to cook the whole meal on the grill (Read the Rest…)

    Wow!! Your video of Lauren and her baptism and her stretching and grunting brought beautiful tears to my eyes. How tender. Nicely done. You three are a beautiful family. I can’t wait to meet Lauren and see you, Steph, on Friday morning.

    Your mom, Josh, is sooooooooo proud of you two! And of course, of Lauren.

    Again, nicely done!!

    Enjoy your miracle of love.

    Love the pictures! Lauren is definitely the “Main Attraction” these days! Uncle Jif and Uncle Jonny look like they’re “old pros” with her! We’re so lonesome for her already . . . and it’s only been three days!!! Please capture her “first smile” on camera for all of us . . . she’s so close to that BIG moment . . . I can’t stand to miss it! Thanks for your hospitality and the great family time in Mpls! Love, Mom

  Waiting patiently is really hard to do!  I feel like we are ready for this baby now and the belly is getting quite cumbersome- and all we can do is wait for the baby to be ready.  I keep thinking “this could be my last day of work” and the hospital bag is packed… (Read the Rest…)

    Hey Steph — I know how hard it can be to wait. And wait. And wait some more!! I found this poem after I went overdue with Oliver and it really said what I was feeling and often times even calmed me down a bit. Hope it helps you too!

    Dear baby, here beneath my heart;
    I thought that you might come today;
    The timing seemed just right.
    But the stars are out
    And the moon is high
    And sheepishly I wonder why
    I try to arrange the plans of God.
    For now I know
    You will not come until the One
    Who holds eternity rustles your soft cocoon
    and whispers in tones I will not hear;
    “It’s time, precious gift.
    Now it’s time.”

    Praying for you Steph! Hang in there. :)
