Mmmm… Cookies

The past two weekends Lauren and I spent some time making some of my favorite cookies. Lauren is very into tasting each ingredient so it was interesting to watch her reaction as she tasted sugar, molasses, flour, etc.  Who knew a kid would like to eat plain old flour?     Look delicious! Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies are one of my favorites. Josh, do you remember when you and Erin would put different spices, etc. in a pan and "cook" it? It is always fun to make memories in the kitchen:) See you soon!

Lauren made it to the MN State Fair for her third year and it wouldn’t have been complete without a picture of her in cheese on a stick cut-out! Thanks to Bumpa Hall, I had the chance to sneak out to Hazeltine on Monday morning and watch the first practice round of the PGA Championship. After spending an extra 15 minutes on the shuttle to the course thanks to a driver that didn’t know how to get there, I was immediately surprised to see (Read the Rest…)

Our summer travels continue and the last few weekends have included one trip back up to Grafton and two trips to the lake. We spent the 4th of July in Park River, ND, and had a great day with the Halls. My cousin Bjorn, his wife Sveta and their daughter, Bianca, made the trip from the east coast and we got to celebrate Bianca’s 2nd birthday with her! Lauren had a fun birthday weekend at the lake!  Grandma Mary and Bumpa Nick joined us at Keck’s cabin with Opa Rob, Nana Jo, Auntie EJ and Annie. I had a surprise visit from my family a couple of weeks ago- it was a total shock to come home from work and find them all there waiting!  I was pretty emotional at first, but after they assured me that it was just a fun surprise, I was able to relax and calm down (Read the Rest…)

Happy Easter!

We had a fun Easter weekend at home.  It started with a family festival at church on Saturday morning where we made a flower pot, sang songs and Lauren got to hunt for Easter eggs.  She loved opening the plastic eggs over and over again, whether there was a treat in there or not! Wow, I just realized we haven’t posted in a month! The last few weeks have been busy, starting with Josh and I traveling to Boulder, CO, for a family friend’s wedding. It’s been a while since our last post because there hasn’t been too much to report!  We’ve had a lot of down time in the past month which has been really nice.  November and December are looking quite busy already so we’ll enjoy these weekends of rest and relaxation!  Josh did get out hunting last (Read the Rest…)
